Duties & Responsibilities
Effective management of accounts including risk analysis and collection
Maintain and control customer master data, contracts, documentation and files
Maintain a professional relationship and efficient communication with internal and external customers
Exception reporting and follow-up
Allocating payments strictly in accordance with customer remittances
Efficient management of disputes (claims) and resolving them within agreed time frames
Creating and applying procedures and policies that ensure timely payments while maintaining a high level of customer retention
Day-to-day duties are varied and include managing the debts, ensuring timely payments are made, processing of incoming funds, reconciling invoices, resolving account queries and managing debt collection and recovery.
Reconciling complex AR accounts
Monitoring debtor balances to ensure a reduction in debtors DSO
Desired Experience & Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in a finance or business-related field of study will be advantageous.
At least 5 years + Credit Management experience in the wholesale and retail sector collecting from retailers
Competency with Accpac system and Microsoft Office Packages
Fully bilingual (above average written and communication skills)
Must have critical thinking skills needed to mitigate credit risk and maintain credit control systems.
Experience interacting and working with customers to ensure their needs are met and credit limits fits in with the current risk portfolio
Be able to handle tasks such as negotiating, resolve queries, improving debt collection processes, and maintaining accurate records of financial activity.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Good business acumen for problem solving
Confidence to deal with a range of stakeholders
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise a demanding workload
