Business Development Consultant (Government Sector)

An opportunity for a Business Development Consultant (Government Sector) in the Recruitment Industry is available in the Johannesburg area.


  • 5 to 8 years’ experience within a sales capacity providing services to State owned and Government Accounts on a national basis
  • Proven track record of success relevance to Account management
  • Understanding of procurement processes within the Government sector
  • Proven track record in identifying and landing new clients within the sector
  • Proven track record of developing key accounts in terms of service offerings and revenue
  • Good stakeholder relationships with clients
  • Excellent networking capabilities
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of authority
  • Computer literate (MS Office: Excel, Word, Power point, Outlook)
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Deadline driven and willing to work under extreme pressure
    Second and/or third official language
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct telesales that will lead to secured appointments / presentations to clients
  • Network to ensure solid client database
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining long term key Clients by understanding their requirements and cross selling across service / product offerings
  • Build and maintain sales to achieve business objectives
  • Secure appointments and close deals
  • Identify leads in the market and conduct in-depth research to identify market trends
  • Assist business by meeting daily activity targets
  • Achieve monthly financial / sales targets
  • Assist with recruitment marketing of the brand and services to ensure increased market share
  • Establish company objectives, goals, processes and plans in support of divisional and corporate strategic directions
  • Draft recruitment proposals aligned to clients needs and requirements
  • Draft and complete recruitment presentations and prepare costings for clients
  • Prepare sales reports on pending and closed deals
  • Manage and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, suppliers and clients
  • Meet with clients/ line managers when needed to brief on positions
  • Conduct site visits with clients to better understand requirements and operations
