Beach Lodge Manager

Hospitality & Catering, KwaZulu Natal KZN - North Coast

Beach Lodge in Northern Kzn requires a Manager. Candidate needs to have suitable background + at least 5 years' experience managing a luxury lodge.

Requirements: 

  • Tertiary Qualification in Hotel Management or Hospitality 
  • Computer Literate: Pastel /Micros/Opera/SEMER property management system/EXCEL/ MS Office  
  • Driver’s License - valid PDP essential 
  • Valid First Aid Certification
  • Fluent English - Zulu advantageous 

Previous experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ Management experience in luxury lodge environment
  • Experienced managing a large & diverse & intense property
  • Focus of Guest experience delivery from each department
  • Systematic & strong with protocols
  • Used to a reporting system & presenting month end packs to Operations
  • An understanding of budget control & financial management & planning for the future of the lodge
  • Basic maintenance & vehicle skills & knowledge certainly required to run the logistics of this self-sustainable remote lodge & supervise the maintenance manager
  • HR & payroll functions of the lodge
  • Hands on staff management & staff disciplinary process
  • Delicately manage community staff & drive the development/upliftment process of those selected employees
  • Eye for detail & good all-rounder in all aspects of the hotel - food/ beverage/ housekeeping/ front office
  • Experience & ability to train staf
  • Reservations & front office administration & practices
  • Benefit to have a love for the ocean, experience in scuba diving or boating.
  • Will need to supervise the Marine Department through the Skipper & Dive Master
