Farm and Production Assistant

A manufacturer of specialised agricultural products is seeking a dynamic Farm and Production Assistant to manage the operations, logistics and maintenance of the production facility as well as driving marketing and new product development initiatives.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a B.Sc. Degree in Agricultural, Environmental, Microbiology or related
  • Previous experience in microbial technology in an agricultural environment will be beneficial
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Afrikaans and English is essential
  • Valid drivers’ license with own transport is essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting research and development, new product development, co-development of testing protocols, testing and trial management.
  • Collecting data on both small scale and larger pilot studies, including small holding or farm based.
  • Performing larger scale implementation support to assist farmers and sales agents to effectively implement various microbial technology applications.
  • Ensuring client relationship management through the maintenance of a formal CRM software platform and regular client visits.
  • Managing the production of various microbial products through the development and implementation of standard operating and manufacturing procedures, quality assurance and control protocols and standardised reporting on a continuous basis.
  • Planning and implementing the maintenance and expansion of the production facilities to meet product demands, ensuring production quality.
  • Conducting administrative duties, including filing, data management, correspondence with clients and management, reporting and preparing documents.
  • Assisting in the compilation of marketing material and initiatives.
  • Tracking product stock and managing the logistics required to ensure efficient delivery of products.

Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
