An established international manufacturer of crop protection chemicals requires the above to plan, execute, analyse and report trials for registrations and key products development and to execute product demonstration trials in support of the Marketing and Sales strategy and New Product Introductions.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • B.Sc. Degree in Agriculture with majors in plant pathology, entomology or agronomy
  • At least 2 years’ product development experience
  • Must have good trial experience
  • Must have good communication skills and the ability to build relationships with big commercial farmers as well as small emerging farmers
  • Must already reside of work in Zambia

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Striving to achieve a 100% success rate of allocated trials in terms of quality and on-time delivery.
  • Conducting complete trial execution from early stage, through registration, to demo trial activities, competitor monitoring and Field Crops demo trials.
  • Participation in and contribution to protocol management.
  • Reporting of trial results and identifying problems, opportunities and threats.
  • Providing technical assistance to sales, marketing and technical departments.
  • Contacting and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Validating results and presenting recommendations on performance of tested products and solutions at single trial level.
  • Ensuring equipment and store maintenance.
  • Establishing good relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, e.g. Distributers, Grower Organizations, Growers, etc.
  • Keeping abreast of market, trade and competitor activities to adapt to changing environments.
  • Arranging demonstration days to train internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assuming ownership of technical expertise per product and crop, including related projects.
  • Driving standardization and transformation of ways of working.
  • Spreading expertise through result meetings, training and sharing of best practices.
  • Ensuring that all operations, under direct control, comply with Health, Safety & Environment policies and guidelines as well as any other relevant or statutory policies.

Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience
