Process Engineer

An international agrochemical manufacturer is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to drive improvements to existing manufacturing processes and supporting the Production Manager and various departments with formulations, packaging solutions and quality concerns.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a BEng Chemical Engineering degree
  • Practical experience and theoretical knowledge of chemical processes and manufacturing are essential
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Detailed knowledge of processes technology and providing technical solutions are required
  • Ideally have experience in quality management and HSE on a manufacturing plant

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to process technology input into significant multi-disciplinary projects and leading small multidisciplinary projects.
  • Providing a high level of chemistry and batch process formulation expertise.
  • Liaising with the end users, production technicians and formulating development chemists to understand daily challenges and to implement significant improvements within the formulation areas.
  • Providing technical manufacturing support with packaging material challenges and quality concerns.
  • Introducing new products into the manufacturing site.
  • Initiating and implementing changes to established protocols, systems or ways of working.
  • Influencing and implementing SHEQ improvements and ensuring that all activities of self and reports satisfy the requirements of company standards, site Management of Change and Process Risk Assessment procedures.
  • Performing laboratory scale formulation experiments to validate manufacturing instructions and to initiate trouble shooting exercises.
  • Developing, training and coaching junior staff to improve their formulation knowledge. 
  • Providing high quality practical advice and judgements to others by applying scientific method, theoretical knowledge and broad experience of similar situations.
  • Establishing and maintaining contact with centres of process technology expertise within the company to ensure optimum use of available skills and resources.
  • Ensuring day to day expectations of stakeholders are achieved.

Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience
