JOB OVERVIEW Lead the Analytics, Planning, Data Science and Development functions in support of the Division to achieve its key sales, profitability and stock targets.


  •  The main functions of the team are:
    • Analytics - Perform data and process analysis to identify opportunities, diagnose problems and recommend improvements. A good proportion of this should be proactive rather than reactive.
    • Data Science - Deliver tools using data science methods to support the areas of forecasting, promotions planning, scenario modeling, pricing, replenishment and assortment planning
    • Planning - Coordinate the planning process. Build and maintain the tools used to perform annual and quarterly planning. Forecast and plan various secondary metrics.
    • Tools Development - Develop tools and prototypes to support the business processes and decision making, mainly using ETL and spreadsheet-based building blocks
  • Build and drive a vision, strategy and identity for the Retail Analytics team and each of its main functions
  • Set the team’s objectives to support Retail’s objectives. Manage and mentor team members to achieve these objectives
  • Foster working relationships between the Analytics team and rest of the business
  • Support and drive the development of Business Intelligence products to support decision making and improve efficiencies




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Commerce, or similar
  • 8+ years’ experience in analytics, business consulting or planning roles
  • At least 2 years’ experience managing a team
  • Highly capable in working with large and complex data sets using appropriate tools. MySQL, Bigquery, Knime, Excel, Google Sheets and Qlikview are examples of the tools we use regularly
  • Experience in the Retail industry is beneficial
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Systems thinker with the ability to understand and break down complex problems and relationships
