Driver Operations and Retention Manager (EE/AA)- CAPE TOWN


  • Analyse data from various sources to determine trends and areas of optimization in driver performance, system logic and driver scaling and retention, by building driver supply forecast models
  • Establish the best of breed Driver recruitment program which can be scaled to own and franchise partners
  • Establish Driver training locations in Cape Town and Johannesburg
  • Ensure Driver legal compliance and Labour market adherence standards are enforced
  • Develop driver Skills development modules within the company’s logistics training teams
  • Management of driver training academies in Johannesburg and Cape Town
  • Research and compile proposals, backed by data, on required changes on Industry benchmarking and measurements for driver categories
  • Present findings to business and stakeholders for approval
  • Work with Technical Programme Managers to convert business requirements into system change requests for driver related enhancements
  • Oversee execution of new processes in business related to drivers
  • Lead negotiations with stakeholders on commercial and contractual terms for new business proposals related to drivers
  • Responsibility for delivery of SLA targets through professional account management
  • Provide intellect to varied array of customer and partner supply chains




  • Minimum 5 years in management role
  • Proven track record of success in delivering against SLA targets
  • Experience in a Retail Multi-User environment
  • Sound operational background within a highly unionised environment
  • Experience of managing customers at a senior level
  • Succession planning and development of key managers
  • Change management experience
