Talent Development Specialist

Facilitate ongoing, long-term improvement of employees' skills, enabling them to fulfill their potential within the organisation

Provide support to the Learning and Development Manager and HR operations team with the implementation of an integrated talent and succession management framework and supporting talent practices and processes which enable identification of organisation-wide talent to mitigate succession risks for critical roles

Conduct research, keep abreast of best practice and provide input on talent management practices and processes and the implementation of practices across the HR function

Ensure that guidelines/ policies/ procedures are met by managing operating risk at targeted levels

Learning and Development value chain:

Show a solid understanding of Talent Management and Development principles, theories and approaches

Capitalise of the touch- points between L &D, performance and talent management

Provide specialist guidance and facilitation of group sessions to stakeholders across all specialisations of Learning and Talent, including:

Employee onboarding

Performance management

Talent reviews

Succession planning

Organisational and personal development planning

Employee experience

Reward and recognition

Talent management execution:

Provide talent management advice to stakeholders

Design and develop/ recommend intervention that responds to business 


Enable implementation of the entire L & D value chain (ADDIE Model, needs analysis, learning plan, WSP, competency frameworks, linking comptencies to interventions, 70-20-10 learning principle)


A degree in HR or equivalent

At least five years in the Learning and Development field

Experience in designing talent and development solutions


Legislative framework (SAQA) requirements, Skills Development statutory requirements knowledge)

ROI knowledge

Root cause/ needs analysis skills

Research skills

Solution design skills

Presentation skills
