The main purpose of this role is to represent the organisation and act as the face and voice of the Company in the media by providing appropriate information intended to create and uphold a positive and credible public image for internal and external stakeholders.

The role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with various members of the media, government, key stakeholders and the public. 

Minimum
Qualification E xperience Required
Relevant Master’s or Honours ( Postgraduate Diploma (NQF 8) AND 12- 15 years'
experience in a large private or public entity or similar environment, of which 4- 6 years at senior management level.

ALTERNATIVE
Relevant Bachelor's Degree Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) AND 15- 18 years
related experience

Performance Management of staff for effective Employee Engagement Performance Excellence
Engagement with internal stakeholders to ensure effective management of
interdependencies

PROCESSES & GOVERNANCE
Act as the spokesperson for, and public representative of the organisation.
Oversee the development, implementation and management of media programmes.

Co ordinate requests for information from the media or designate an appropriate
spokesperson or information source.
Drive the process of drafting media statements, speeches or other communication articles.
Participate in crisis communica tions response on behalf of the organization.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with members of the news media and with key stakeholders within the organisation.
Monitor media relations activities, track reactive and proactive interactions with media and influencers for analytic purposes.
Utilise relevant social mediathe organisation

FINANCIAL
Prepares Business Unit Resource plan.
Accountable for the effective husbanding of all financial and material resources within the Business Unit.
Complies with all requirements of PFMA and relevant Treasury and Company policies and regulations.
