A leading global pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for an HR Officer. This is an open ended contract role, to be viewed as a developmental role and the opportunity to learn more about the pharmaceutical industry and the business in general. The company is based in the Northern suburbs of Johannesburg.

Job Description

The HR Officer is responsible for providing support to the various human resources functions, as well as being responsible for the tasks and areas listed below

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Develop a partnership across the HR team to support strategic projects and advance the HR people strategy. Projects will include (but not limited to):

  • Wellbeing advancement in the affiliate
  • Onboarding and offboarding support
  • Monitoring of recognition programs
  • WSP/ATR
  • Company of choice project
  • Support the HR team as we advance the new human capital management system in the affiliate

 

Support HR compliance and governance

  • Ensure all policy reviews are completed and support the business need
  • Access control oversight for the affiliate
  • Ensure all HR contracts are in place, updated and compliant.
  • Monitor and report on employee leave management

 

Responsible for the learning management system

  • Creating new courses and curriculum
  • Ensuring all employees have the correct training assigned
  • Managing learning plans including monitoring of training completion
  • Supporting training needs for the various functions

 

Requirements for this role

Qualification & Experience

  • An undergraduate qualification is essential

Skills & Competencies

  • Effective prioritization and planning skills with attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and to collaborate cross-functionally
  • High learning agility
  • Project management skills
  • Effective communication at different levels in the organization both locally and globally
  • Have a strong compliance mindset
  • Ability to challenge status quo by speaking up and pushing back when required
