We are currently recruiting for an experienced, dedicated and hard working Industrial Engineer that is looking for a new opportunity to grow and gain more experience.

Purpose of the Position: 

  • To identify, plan & execute Logistics related projects in the companies Logistics.
  • Provide leadership to Line Management for the improvement of the companies Logistics processes.
  • Develop, Implement and Drive “Lean Logistics” and “Lean Thinking” thinking and practices within the companies Logistics.

Key Perfomance Areas: 

  • Optimization of all Dry Goods and Perishables warehouse layouts.
  • Manage and Refine Labour Management, in terms of the Current Standards,
  • Revision of work study standards due to changes in work processes, Various Productivity Based Incentive Schemes.
  • Analysis of & providing Industrial Engineering solutions to Logistics business challenges, e.g. Productivity Based Pay systems.
  • Implement and maintain the methods and processes required for “Lean Logistics” thinking and approaches.
  • Lead teams and individuals in identified Logistics improvement project.
  • Focused on workflows and controls to improve the effectiveness of the Logistics operation.
  • Educate Teams in Lean Thinking Principles and Methods.
  • Be part of an Operational Line Management Team to support and lead specific projects.
  • Create focus as part of a management team on a rotational basis.
  • Trouble shooting identified Logistics areas and processes with low productivity.

Skills and knowledge competencies: 

  • Provide Leadership in a participative environment.
  • Industrial Engineering Experience in a Warehouse environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Data collection, data analysis and development of potential solutions with motivation on the potential solutions.
  • Understanding, analysis of and improvement of various Logistics systems in Inbound, Outbound
  • Perishables and Risk & Maintenance.
  • Goal orientated and self-driven to achieve results.
  • Being able to lead and manage various projects at the same time.
  • Effective management of projects from inception to completion.
  • Able to lead and provide direction to a dedicated short term project team.
  • Proven ability to use Autocad for technical drawings and adjustments thereof
  • Work with various teams to implement Lean Thinking methods.

Knowledge competencies:

  • Formal Industrial Engineering Qualification.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
  • Project management.
  • Problem analysis and problem solving methodologies.
  • Understanding of the AS400 and SC Manager with a specific focus on the Labour Management Module.
  • Lean Logistics and Lean Thinking Methods and Approaches.
