We are urgently seeking a Financial Manager to join a Manufacturing company based in Epping. The incumbent, reporting to the General Manager, will be responsible for the planning, managing and overall operations of the Financial Department. Interested candidates must be committed team players with a proactive, hands-on approach.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

  • Monitoring of actual costs and overheads, production variances, labour costs and work in progress
  • Analyse timesheets and raw material data and balance all WIP and stock reports to General Ledger.
  • Checking and completing WIP reports and stock journals and closing of jobs
  • Ensure all delivery notes have been invoiced and oversee all invoicing and credit note entries
  • Supervise  journals and stocks
  • Responsible for monthly and annual sales budgets
  • Provide training and manage performance of accounting staff
  • Develop and maintain positive client relations
  • Hire, train, evaluate and resolve personnel grievances
  • Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control programmes
  • Review processing schedules in alignment with budgets
  • Compile statements and print monthly reports (WIP,FGS,COS and Stock)
  • Arrange monthly stock takes and compile reports on results
  • Balance monthly stock and cost control summaries
  • Prepare monthly provision/accrual journals
  • Complete monthly and quarterly production reports for statistical services
  • Presentation of monthly figures and reports

To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A relevant Tertiary Qualification (Bachelor Degree). A CIMA qualification will be advantageous
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Financial Accounting environment in a Supervisory/ Management capacity
  • 3-5 Years experience in a Flexible Packaging and/ or manufacturing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of the procedures and responsibilities of the debtors and creditors function
  • In-depth knowledge of the procedures and responsibilities of the accounting , costing , charging and shipping (imports and exports) function
  • Knowledge of basic sales & customer service principles
  • Good Problem solving and analytical abilities
  • Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • A working knowledge of Prism will be advantageous
