Receptionist (Shopping Centre)

Admin, Office & Support, Western Cape Claremont

R 13000 - R 15000

Do you like working in retail then this is the position for you. Seeking a well groomed receptionist to receive and handle walk in clients and visitors and to answer switchboard that it projects a professional image of the centre.

Main purpose / objective of the position:

General administrative task and support in terms of leasing and procurement administration will also form part of this position as part of support to the Centre management team.

Decision making authority:

Per approval framework. Training would be required to take decisions of a general nature from which specific judgment can be made to meet a new situation not yet encountered.

Experience / Education:

Grade 12 or equivalent and at least 2 years relevant experience in an administrative environment. Retail shopping center experience will be recommendation

Skills required:

Telephone skills

General administrative skills

Computer literacy (MS office, particularly outlook, word and excel)

Ability to multi task

Interpersonal skills

English business writing skills

Knowledge required:


General layout of the Centre

Policies and procedures

Relevant legislation e.g. FICA, OHS

Sophistication of switchboard equipment

Number and complexity of incoming calls

Leasing procurement projects

Internal: Centre Manager, Operations Manager, and Office Staff

External: Tenants, Landlords, Contractors
