The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

 

Manages the end to end recruitment process

Administers the monthly payroll according to stipulated Head Office standards and deadlines

Provides day-to-day benefits administration services

Schedules benefits orientations

Participates in the conduct of investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth

Guides managers and supervisors regarding the steps in the progressive discipline system

Represents the Hotel at CCMA

Coordinates external training

Assists with the establishment and maintenance of an in-house employee training system that addresses company training needs including training needs assessment, new employee orientation and management development

Assists with the development of and monitors the spending of the hotel’s training budget

Coordinates the placement of trainees

Facilitates induction for all new employees

Ensures employee communication and feedback through such avenues as General STAFF meetings, STAFF Forum meetings, one on one meetings  and memos

Maintains the payroll and employee files

Conducts regular audits of employee and payroll files to ensure that they are in compliance with Head Office standards

Prepares and maintains reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the Human Resources Department

Submits all WCA claims and monitors the status of claims

Complies with all reporting requirements as stipulated by Head Office, including any related to skills development, employment equity and BBBEE

Acts as Employment Equity Manager in absence of Human Resourses Manager

To demonstrate tact, diplomacy and a high degree of confidentiality at all times;

May be required to perform other duties outside the normal scope of work from time to time.

 

 

Job Specification:

 

Relevant HR/IR Degree/Diploma or equivalent qualification (pre-requisite);

2 - 3 years related experience (prerequisite)

Knowledge of the various employment legislation;

Knowledge of VIP Payroll/HR system (advantageous);

CCMA experience (advantageous)

Core competencies include excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills a must;

Strong active listening skills and interpersonal skills are required;

Computer Literate – MSOffice, PowerPoint essential;

Knowledge of Human Resources processes and principles;

Strong relationship building skills;

Service orientated and professional;

Will require integrity and discretion in dealing with information enquiries as much of the material is of a highly sensitive nature;

Time management and prioritization: Good time management, planning and follow-up skills, as well as the ability to meet deadlines.
