Supply Chain Analyst

Supply Chain Analyst Required_International Manufacturing Company based on the West Rand to take responsibility for establishing, developing and performing demand and supply activities according to procurement policy, industry best practices and good corporate governance.

Key Purpose Statement


The Supply Chain Analyst is primarily responsible for establishing, developing and performing of demand and supply activities. The involvement, application and enforcement of procurement policy and industry best practices and good corporate governance. Analyse and report on supply chain performance whilst seeking areas to continuously improve and optimize. To be a business advisor and facilitator to ensure overall company targets are delivered on.


Outputs & Accountabilities:



  • The involvement, application and enforcement of procurement policy
  • Design, establish, overview and perform buying activities
  • Manage centralised buying activities
  • Assist in the execution of procurement strategy and objectives


Business Analysis

  • Implement processes to gather and analyse supply chain performance indicators
  • Collect, validate and analyse business information to assist with process optimisation/improvement, scheduled/ad-hoc reporting and root cause analysis. This will involve critically analysing information from multiple sources, bringing clarity to the picture
  • Proactively identifying improvement opportunities and analysing the value of such
  • Process mapping and process re-engineering



  • Based on Supply chain mission and objectives, establish key KPI’s to track as well as other useful information that needs to be tracked and monitored in order to support decision making
  • Establish and implement a daily, weekly and monthly reporting calendar. This will require a detailed knowledge of Company’s information systems and how to extract and manipulate information. This includes developing reports as well as working with IT to achieve
  • Automation of the generation of these reports
  • Prepare exception based reporting and drive implementation of business improvement ideas


Process Improvement

  • Actively participate in and contribute to projects to identify and implement opportunities for process improvement
  • Actively participate in and contribute to projects to develop, test and implement new supply chain services and processes



  • As operationally required by the business, construct statistical forecast for decision support


Demand Planning

  • Design, establish and run a Demand planning calendar supported by processes and templates where applicable


Supply and production planning

  • Where operationally relevant/ for redundancy purposes engage in supply/capacity planning as well as production planning to support the Supply Chain Manager

Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Tertiary Education – Supply Chain Management
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Project experience
  • Experience in planning
  • Experience of the supply chain management
  • MS Office suite, with Excel experience
  • Dynamic team participation
