Replenishment Buyer Required_International Manufacturing client based on the West Rand to create material requirement plans, manage associated inventory and form the link between sales, production and logistics to create and maintain a central hub for on-time delivery of centralised categories.

Key Purpose Statement

  • Create the Material Requirements Plans and associated replenishment schedule for centralised categories/suppliers.
  • Manages associated inventory to provide efficient service to internal and external customers.
  • Is a key participant in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) operating calendar
  • Establish, maintain and enhance planning and scheduling systems
  • A link between sales, production and logistics, establishing and maintaining a central hub for the on-time delivery of centralised categories
  • To complete reporting and analysis on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis.

 

Outputs & Accountabilities

  • Review, forecast, determine delivery dates, and place purchase orders with suppliers.
  • Releases and schedules purchase orders through the ERP system and communicates updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Prepare planning information for review
  • Releases new orders to suppliers confirming delivery dates on the schedule. This is accomplished by converting purchase requisitions to purchase orders in the ERP/DoA system
  • Contacts suppliers on matters of current and past due shipments
  • Attends and contributes to Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) operating calendar
  • Maintain overall Inventory Days on hand at or below prescribed level.
  • Optimise Inventory, prevent and reduce overstock conditions, slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
  • Regularly review safety stock levels
  • Process damaged and spoiled product returns to suppliers.
  • Continuously contribute to improve the operational interaction between purchasing, production, sales and marketing and logistics
  • Formulate and communicate areas for improvements to superiors
  • Accountable for KPI and Target Achievement

  • Increase service level On-Time In-Full (OTIF)
  • Increase Stock Turnover
  • Decrease excess, slow-moving or obsolete stock
  • Weekly/Monthly participation in demand and supply operating calendars
  • Documents/Reports in-line with weekly/monthly schedules as outlined by operating calendar
  • Replenishment schedule completeness, accuracy and timeliness
  • Purchase requisitions/orders accuracy
  • Scheduled and Ad-hoc report completeness, accuracy and timeliness

Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Tertiary Education
  • 2 years’ experience in Planning
  • 2 years’ experience of the supply chain management
  • MS Office suite, with Excel experience
