Procurement Officer / Junior Buyer

Logistics, Warehouse & Freight, Gauteng JHB - Northern Suburbs

R 264000 Annually

Well established and growing cable distributor based in the North of JHB is urgently looking for a Procurement Officer / Junior Buyer.

Minimum Requirements.

3 years experience with in similar role

Preference will be given to candidates living in the Northern suburbs of JHB

Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans

 

Main Activities

 

  • Process purchase orders and submit telephonically, faxed, emailed according to company policy
  • Provide sales staff with product and service information and support
  • Liase with and support dispatch department and supervisor regarding dispatching / receiving instructions e.g. delivery, collect, courier etc
  • Monitor zero-, low-, and non stock items for pricing and buying when necessary for sales orders and stock levels
  • Liase with and support accounts department with new supplier accounts / applications
  • Identify, research and resolve supplier issues
  • Follow up orders outstanding
  • Keep proper record of all pricing requests and feedback
  • Stock take:
    • Manage the department allocated to you
    • Do spot checks throughout month and solve queries before month end
    • Attend stock take at month end
    • Bring queries and problems under management’s attention and solve
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions with the seriousness required
  • Complete any purchase related reports as requested by company
  • Recognize, document and alert the purchase manager of trends, results and recommendations in buying
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Assist with the launch and implementation of new products
