Financial Manager required for well established Food Franchise Head Office situated in Johannesburg to take responsibility for the planning, managing and running of all finance activities of the firm including business planning, budgeting, forecasting and negotiations. The position also entails obtaining and maintaining Investor Relations and Franchisee compliance.

As part of the management team, will have interaction with various members of the Company, both senior and junior, including:

  • Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team
  • Providing strategic recommendations to the MD and members of the management team
  • Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting to provide accurate information on Company performance
  • Advising on long-term business and financial planning
  • Establishing and developing relations with all of management and franchisees
  • Reviewing all formal finance, HR and IT related procedures
  • Have strong work ethic and be very reliable
  • Cash management, financial and corporate accounting competence
  • Manage all legal compliance aspects of the Finance department
  • To manage the integrity of the general ledger to ensure accurate input into the management and statutory reports
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Submit all necessary to SARS monthly + annually
  • Check all salaries and authorise transfers
  • Prep all paperwork for the auditors – Fin.Year End = end June.
  • Insurance claims
  • Lease agreements
  • Asset register
  • All Company vehicle papers
  • Excel + Pastel evolution
  • Crystal reporting done by external co
  • Financial Control of 13 Company owned stores (in JHB Area)

At least 15 years' experience in the finance industry and managing a team is a must – with examples of demonstrated excellence in the workplace. Must display a cohesive ability at interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written. They must be able to engage with staff at all levels of the organisation and exercise sound judgement. Experience in fast food or retail an advantage.
