Finance Manager_Access Control and Security Sector for well-established team to be based in Linbro Park_CIMA and SAP are critical for the role


  • Financial Accounting: Recommending and managing an organised flow, accurate recording and storage management of financial data and documentation, for the benefit of all the company stakeholders.
  • Financial Reporting: Providing accurate, timeous and relevant financial information for internal purposes for use by the CEO and the Board of Directors in order to make informed decisions or to be communicated to external parties such as shareholders, investors, banks or financing / lending institutions.
  • Compliance: Keeping abreast with accounting principles. Ensuring compliance with South African laws, codes and guidelines pertaining to financial governance, taxes, foreign exchange transactions, financial reporting, credit, payroll and other areas that have financial consequences for the entity.
  • Internal Controls: Recommending and implementing internal policies and control procedures.
  • Organisational Management: Recommending an effective financial management organogram and building the capacity of the GSA finance team.
  • Staff Management: Subsequently guiding and overseeing the day to day activities and duties of the finance department and ensure effective use and deployment of staff and financial resources.
  • Change Management: Lead change and support all strategic change initiatives and challenges arising in the department.
  • Risk Management: Closely monitoring and mitigating financial risks and compliance risks
  • Information Technology: Ensuring the integrity of the financial reporting system - SAP ERP Production, CRM, BPC and EWM (S/4HANA training certificate an advantage).

·      Budgeting and Planning



  • A Qualified CA(SA), or CIMA, or a BComm (Honours) in Financial / Management Accounting (with articles, TOPP articles an advantage).
  • Prepare monthly cashflow/working capital plan.
  • Perform weekly and periodic sales analysis.
  • Monitor expenses and cash flow weekly
  • Manage Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank and Cash, Assets, Fleet Expenses, Credit Card Transactions, Payroll (outsourced), Rebate Accounts, Travel Expenses, BPL Sales reporting, Accruals, Foreign Currency reconciliations.
  • Arrange forward cover.
  • Manage procurement processes and purchasing.
  • Oversee and manage stock counts.
  • Clearing of suspense accounts.
  • Manage month-end processes and divisional reports as per SAP manual.
  • Produce monthly management accounts and quarterly financial reports.
  • Prepare year-end audit file.
  • Manage internal and external audits, and special audits.
  • Plan and cooperate with Finance offices of the shareholders.
  • Manage filing of SARS returns (outsourced) and other statutory returns.
  • Provide a roadmap and support to Budget Holders in the preparation of budget and forecasts.
  • Provide support to the business with regards to costing, financial models and specific ad hoc projects when required.
  • Define financial requirements against mandated goals and objectives; how annual and longer-term goals and objectives can be met through the use of financial resources, and translate these into specific financial commitments.
  • Assess these requirements in financial terms, determining what is achievable using available financial resources through costing all aspects of these requirements.
  • Allocate budgeted funds to specific accounts in the chart of accounts.
  • Monitor the actual use of financial resources against the approved budget and identify variances.
  • Forecast adjustments / revised estimates for the predicted use of financial resources against the budgeted financial resources during a given financial year or period.
  • Adjust the approved budget under directives from appropriate management and/or in response to variances between planned and actual expenditures.
  • Report findings and action taken, make recommendations to the appropriate authorities.
  • Attend to queries from external auditors.
  • Assist with queries from internal and external customers. Initiate, contribute/respond to respective policy changes.
  • Analyse and manage implementation of financial and operational structures on SAP.








  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial manager role.
  • Flexibility working at both a detailed administrative level and strategic level simultaneously.
  • Experience in developing built-for-purpose ad-hoc financial / progress reports.
  • Experience in preparing and finalising management accounts.
  • Experience in drafting annual financial statements.
  • VAT, Income Tax and Customs knowledge in accordance with current South African regulations.
  • Knowledge of strategic and financial planning including activity costing, benchmarking, and KPIs.
  • Experience in budget preparation and reporting.
  • Experience in goods and services procurement processes.
  • Financial reporting to Directors.
  • Experience reporting to external regulators, shareholders and funding institutions.
  • Reporting to international/intracontinental stakeholders and an understanding of key issues relevant to international/intracontinental development.
  • Dealing with government clients as a supplier of goods/services to the public sector




  • Highly numerate and able to analyse statistical information and interpret financial data to produce reports which can be understood by non-financial colleagues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written



  • Advanced MS Excel, MS Word and MS Powerpoint.
  • Working knowledge of SAP ERP PRODUCTION, CRM, BPC and EWM (S/4HANA training certificate an advantage)
  • Fully conversant with the current uses of information technology in the workplace and uses ICT (or other ERP, business intelligence, dashboard systems) as a management tool.
