Duty Station Supervisor

Aviation: Ground Staff, Eastern Cape East London

- Hourly

FlySafair requires the service of a Duty Station Supervisor that will report to the Base Manager. The position will be based at EAST LONDON AIRPORT

- Responsible to ensure all staff conform to the required standards of services and efficiency;
- Ensure service providers complies with procedures in place;
- Monitoring and supervising the operation;
- Continuous improvement on quality;
- Ensure adequate staffing levels are in place at all departments;
- Daily operational planning;
- Proactive planning (parking bays, busses etc.)
- Ensure all staff are on duty in full uniform, staff levels must be checked at ticket sales, check-in. boarding and ramp;
- Check emails and action accordingly;
- Ensure check-in counters are open on time and mannered at all times;
- Ensure the ground handler is equipped (radios, cell phones etc.;
- Ensure there is enough stock on hand (stickers, manual handling stock etc.);
- Make oneself visible at all times for staff and passengers;
- Investigate incidents and report to station in charge;
- Discipline staff, ensure disciplinary action is taken for non-compliance;
- Attend to complaints, if unable to complete investigation handover to next shift;
- Report all irregularities on flights to station in charge;
- Leave a proper hand over, make sure the office is always clean and neat and locked up at the end of the day;
- Customer liaison;
- Delay handling;
- Spot checks must be done on all departments;
- Any other duties as assigned by management from time to time;
- Complete daily shift report;
- Complete daily delay report;
- Attend and conduct shift briefings with service providers and ticket sales;
- Attend meetings with service providers;
- Ensure internal communication is maintained and all movements messages are sent timeously.
- Matric (Grade 12). 
- Computer literacy. 
- Experience in Passenger services. 
- Supervisory experience is an advantage. 
- Managerial and leadership skills. 
- Interpersonal skills. 
- Customer Service orientated. 
- Organizational/Administrative skills. 
- Human Relations Skills. 
- Ability to handle pressure. 
- Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays. 
- Product knowledge. 
- Airline System Knowledge. 
- Able to prioritize 
- Must be able to manage 
- Function as a member of a team 
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels 
- Meet deadlines and function effectively under short time constraints 
- Maintain composure and professionalism during possible conflict situations 
- Able to work under pressure
