Continued Airworthiness Specialist

Aviation: General, Gauteng Kempton Park


Safair requires the services of a Continued Airworthiness Specialist that will report to the Responsible Person: Aircraft and be based at Head Office in Bonaero Park.

- Ensure that company aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition.
- Check the work pack before is handed over to the AMO to ensure that is in line with the aircraft Status report of due items/tacks as per SAM.
- Ensures no defective or unairworthy parts are installed in any component or Safair aircraft before released to service. 
- Inspects and accepts all incoming material, i.e. new parts, supplies and repaired parts from contract service.
- Performs qualify technical inspections of aircraft, components parts, and systems.
- Ensures proper tagging and identification of all parts.
- Performs quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment and tooling used to for aircraft maintenance, including calibration of precision test equipment as outlined in the Manuals.
- Performs in-progress and final quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair modification, rework and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and components parts, and assumes responsibility for that work as indicated by signature.
- Inspects job progress, procedures, and maintenance forms used in performance of aircraft maintenance work to assure compliance with approved methods, data, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Inspects all incoming parts to assure they carry approved documentation and certification.
- Writes up discrepancies in accordance with procedures and submits reports of defects or unairworthy conditions as per Safair procedures.
- Conducting routine Aircraft Ramp Inspections
- Maintain all oversight compliance records required by the operator 
- Maintains current library of aircraft maintenance manuals, parts catalogues, structure repair manuals, wiring manuals and engine manuals applicable to the Safair fleet.
- Ensures proper procedures are performed on all completed work before it is released to service. Completes all inspection and maintenance records, reports and forms required before authorized release. 
- Grade 12 (or equivalent) with mathematics and science;
- Trade certificate as Aircraft Technician
- Excellent understanding of aircraft maintenance practices and aviation regulations
- Minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience
- Must be able to meet deadlines;
- Requires little supervision, is a team player and an independent thinker who will take initiative;
- Willing to teach and share their experience with other team members;
