Electronics Procurement Specialist

The purpose of the Electronics procurement specialist is to source leading electronic components against the estimated product deadlines and budget.

Key Responsibilities 
 
Operational efficiency and excellence:
  • Primary focus must be given to increasing profits through considered procurement while always maximising production efficiencies in the process.
  • Orders to be processed timeously to prevent unnecessary delays and with clear instructions.
  • Co-ordinate supplier deliveries in relation to the production plan and communicate effectively with the production team to ensure alignment.
  • Document management: the ability to accurately file and store data pertaining to supplier quotes, price lists and MSDS data sheets.
 
Innovation:
  • To provide innovative ideas pertaining to the products and services in the electronics category for Company. This relates to the raw materials, production processes and supply chain advancements.
 
Industry knowledge:
  • Continue to develop industry knowledge by visiting suppliers, doing trade visits and keeping abreast with credible information pertaining to the changes in the industry.
 
Supply chain management:
  • An understanding of both raw material and service suppliers and the offerings they provide, and the costs of these offerings.
  • Development of the supply chain to ensure mitigated risk and advancement for the benefit of Company.
 
Networking and collaboration:
  • Continued relationship building with new and/or existing suppliers and internal departments.
  • Application of collaborative-negotiation (win-win) approaches which benefit, Company, suppliers, customers and the environment. 
 
 
Requirements:
 
  • 1 Year Electronics Higher Certification &/or 3 years relevant procurement and electronics experience in the industry
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ERP System: Reporting, processing and analysing
  • Adequate skills in Excel, PowerPoint and email management
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and maintain composure when a variety of demands are required
  • Verbal and written communication skills that relay a message/instruction effectively without creating offence or tension.
