The successful candidate will report to Operations Finance Manager and will be responsible to manage the financial and administration functions of the Branches within the Gauteng Region to optimize profits.
Key Performance Areas:
Responsible to ensure compliance with laid down Policies and Procedures, to report non-compliance thereof, and to initiate and monitor corrective action.
Assist in ensuring that branch management accounts are accurate and timeously distributed, assist with the preparation of the annual budgets.
Responsible for ensuring that the branch staff is adequately trained and competent to handle all transactions and administration function.
Assist with resolution of all branch-related queries as and when these arise.
Assist in working capital and asset management (debtors, stock, fixed assets).
Assist with Financial contribution & evaluation (expense and income control, financial input).
Ensure compliance of financial reporting within general SOX framework.
Conduct Internal Audits in branches & evaluate internal controls in terms of policies and procedures.
Extensive and regular travelling to the various branches will be required.
Skills and experience required:
A minimum of 5 years in the Tyre or related industry.
Sound understanding of Business Management principles
Sound working knowledge of all related Admin/Financial systems, particularly GRIPS or a similar computer system.
Proven knowledge & experience in audit functions.
B Com (Accounting) / B Compt

Degree or equivalent in a mining related field e.g. Mining, Geology, Mining Surveying etc. (essential)
Honours degree in a mining related field as specified above will be advantageous
Other relevant certificate of competency for Technical Services, Mineral Resources or Mining (essential)
Professional registration in field of expertise is (essential)
Financial qualification would be advantageous.
JOB SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS: (Essential)
10 years Technical/Mineral Resource experience in tabular ore bodies, preferably within the platinum mining industry
Knowledge of the Mine standards and practise
Mineral resource and technical management principles and processes knowledge
Mineral resource and technical systems (IT) knowledge
Managerial experience of mine technical services function, e.g. Geology, Survey, Mine Planners, Rock Engineering, Engineering, Safety and Ventilation
Technical evaluation (analytical) skills
General computer/IT knowledge
Good verbal and written communication skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Ensure effective functioning and good integration between the various technical departments on the shaft or within a shaft cluster.
Co-ordinate all short, medium to long term planning as well as optimisation work at shaft level.
Ensure all operational planning is effective (G-sheets, pre planning, lost blast analysis etc.).
Provide technical advice to the Mine Manager and General Manager.\
Monitor operational achievement and provide advice to the Mine Manager and General Manager on deviations and impacts (volumes, quality of mining, cost and revenue).
Ensure all technical reporting is provided as required on and off the shaft.
Act as liaison between MRM Manager Operations and the technical heads as required.Ensure that the service provided to mining by the technical services team is effective.
To co-ordinate all ad hoc requests of information at shaft level.
To ensure application of relevant standards and practises within the Mine Technical Services department.
